History of Tierra Verde Solar Inc.
In 2001, James A. "Hoss" Boyd founded Premier Commercial Industrial Residential Electrical Systems Inc (dba Premier Electrical Systems). For the first 6 years, Premier competed for medium-scale commercial electrical contracts in Central Texas. The projects included high-voltage underground infrastructure for commercial developments, medical and business office buildings, retail shells and large box retail store lighting retro-fit projects. In 2007, Premier expanded into solar (PV) systems, completing a number of small ground-based and rooftop solar projects. In addition, Premier competed for large-scale government and utility company projects in the 1 MW and larger range. Later in 2007, Randolph Hall joined the Premier team with a focus on solar projects. This began a transformation over the next two years from traditional electrical contracting into solar energy contracting. In Oct 2009, Hoss closed Premier, and in Nov 2009, he moved all the solar energy activities into a new company cofounded by Hoss (CEO) and Randolph Hall (President).
Tierra Verde Solar Inc is now a rapidly growing company focused on solar (PV) integration, development and contracting, with capacity to build projects larger than 10 Mega Watts. Through manufacturer-direct relationships with American made/German engineered equipment companies, Tierra Verde can offer the highest quality systems at competitive pricing. As a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, the company is just one of a select few solar companies nationally in this government contracting category. It is also one of the only solar (PV) companies in the State of Texas owned and operated by a NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) Certified Master Electrician.
In other arenas, Tierra Verde Solar Inc is an active member of the San Antonio Clean Tech Forum, and the St Philip's College Alternative Energy Advisory Board. In addition, Tierra Verde hosts college and high school student interns in various partnerships with education programs.
